LEADER OF THE PACK.
Celebrating the proud history of Native Americans and Indigenous peoples in North America, the Nike Air Max 1 N7 brings the revolutionary track silhouette into a new realm. The raised haptic graphic honors the vibrant patterns of certain Native artwork while paying tribute to the gifts given at the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe’s traditional naming ceremonies. The rubber Waffle outsole and soft suede upper finish off the iconic look.
Behind the Design
Honoring the generosity and respect inherent to Indigenous communities, the vibrant graphic on the upper celebrates Native artwork and nods to the quilts and medallions gifted to recipients during naming ceremonies.
Nodding to the beaded medallions of certain Native Americans and Indigenous peoples, the haptic graphic creates a 3 dimensional effect that adds depth and texture. Created by hand, these medallions are received with a great deal of respect for the amount of time and energy it takes to create them.
The upper features heavy-duty recycled canvas, a buffed collar and soft suedes, echoing the original materials for added vintage appeal.
Originally designed for performance running, the visible Max Air unit provides heritage style and all-day cushioning.
Branding lets you know this is N7 certified, and that Nike is committed to getting youth in Native American and Indigenous communities in North America moving so they can lead healthier, happier and more successful lives.
The rubber Waffle outsole adds heritage styling, traction and durability.
Padded, low-cut collar feels great and looks sleek.
